Useful Firefox Extensions
- Adblock Plus:
Filters ads from web pages.
- CustomizeGoogle:
Removes Google ads and switches to https.
Now called OptimizeGoogle.
- FlashBlock:
Blocks Flash content and allows users to click to view.
- ForecastFox:
Brings international weather to your web browser.
- Greasemonkey:
Adds
user scripts
to any web page to change its behavior.
- Reload Every:
Reloads web pages every so many seconds or minutes.
The functionality is also included in Tab Mix Plus.
- ScrapBook:
Helps to save web pages and easily manage collections.

Enhances Firefox's tab browsing capabilities.
Make Firefox Even Faster
There are several ways to make Firefox run a bit faster:
- Pipelining page requests.
- Type
about:config
in the address bar.
- Type
pipe
in the filter
- Set
network.http.pipelining
to true
and increase network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
to a larger number, say, 32.
- Disable Flash (with Adblock or FlashBlock) and/or
add more memory to your computer.
Change the Default Printer
On some Linux systems,
CUPS
is used for printing.
Use lpoptions -d <printer>
to set up the default
printer, and then Firefox will use that one.
